Not sure if these guys hang out on here or not but two weeks ago they took first place in a field of 147 crapcans at the Lemons race in Sonoma. If I remember them correctly they first fielded this car probably 5-6 years ago with an NA motor and had problems with water or oil cooling the first race and grenaded the motor. They been working out the bugs and in addition to their more proficient driving their car has gotten really quick recently. (Rumor has it there is a very cheaty Nissan Titan V8 motor under the hood.) Its definitely running some sort of V8 and does not scream with a V6 anymore.
We were able to squeeze out 29th place overall after losing 2nd gear the first day and then completely losing 3rd and 4th gear day two. Even though we baby the transmission the shift forks on the T45 that we run are notoriously weak. Couple that with the fact that we think we ended up with an abused model off craigslist for $150 and it was only a matter of time. We raced in 5th gear for most of the day trying to carry as much speed as possible and occasionally could grind it into second when absolutely necessary. Good times regardless.
